QUIET CEREMONY WILSON—DE LAUTOUR The marriage of Miss Cecil Margaret de Lautour, youngest daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. C. A. de Lautour, of Gisborne, to Mr. Owen Wilson, eldest son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Gilbert, Wilson, Long Drive, St. Heliers, was quietly celebrated yesterday afternoon at St.* Philip's Church, St. Heliers. The I?ev. L. E. Cartridge officiated. The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr. H. 1). de Lautour, wore a charming woollen frock of smoke-blue, with a brown hat and brown accessories. Following the ceremony the bride's sister, Mrs. H. Watson Airey, received the guests at a small informal reception held at Mr. and Mrs. Watson Airey's home in Aldred Road, Remuera. FURLOUGH WEDDING EAGLES—ADAMS All Saints' Church, Ponsonby, was the scene of the wedding yesterday afternoon of Miss Alma Mabel (Mollie) Adams, only daughter of Sergeant and Mrs E. M. Adams, 139 Jervois Road, Heme Bay, to Lieutenant Ralph Oliver Eagles (on furlough from the Middle East), younger son of Mr. James Eagles and the late Mrs. Eagles, 21 Anne Street, Devonport. Canon W. W. Averill officiated. x The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a trained frock of white sii pper satin with a tucked yoke. Her embroidered tulle veil was held in place by a spray of white begonias, and she carried a bouquet of the eame flowers. Tho bridesmaid, Miss Betty Middleton, wore a frock of ciel blue silk pique and a Juliet cap of the same material caught with a spray of red roses to match her bouquet. The best man was Lieutenant Jan Hirst, M.C., and the ushers were Captain Hugh Chambers and Lieutenant A. H. Empsou, M.M., all of whom are also on furlough. The reception after the ceremony was held at the Domain Tea Kiosk. VICTORIA LEAGUE ELECTION OF OFFICERS Following the annual meeting of the Victoria League, which took place yesterday, a musical programme, provided by Miss E. Hutchison, was presented. To express appreciation to Mrs. Clifton Webb, ex-president of the Auckland branch of the Plunket Society, representatives of the sub-branches and headquarters members gathered for afternoon tea at the home of the new president. Mrs. K. P. Towle, in Remuera Road. As a token of appreciation, Mrs. Webb was presented with a pewter teaset and tray.
