SUBURBAN CRICKET
J. KEMP SCORES CENTURY
Conditions were ideal at the Domain on Saturday afternoon when the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association resumed its ccii'or grade competition, which has reached an interesting stage. A well-compiled century by J. Kemp (Ait Force) was a feature of the matches, and a win for Railway against Green Lane save added interest. _ In the principal game, Brixton failed to make good use 'of an excellent wicket in its match against R.V. The lack of fast running between the wickets, and a tendency to bat 100 carefully resulted in Brixton having scored only 113 for eight wickets when time was called. R. T.ongrville (33) was the only one to force the pace. N. Goldsworthy did well to secure five wickets for 53. H. Sirapson gave a masterly display of batting, contributing St out of 151 compiled by R.V. A splendid partnership between M. Boreham (05) and A. Lonergan (GS) was a feature of Railway's victory over Green Lane, which was without C. Kerr. Green Lane batted first and scored 123 for four wickets. After losing one wicket cheaply, Railway added 332 without further loss. Both Boreham and Lonergan played * chanceless innings. Manukau scored fast, against M.T.P. to obtain 103 for eight wickets. A. Dunning (05) showed his best form. M.T.P. was dismissed for 130, and the bowling honours were shared by J.-Mann and Dunning. Sound batting by D. Hetherington (-14) and K. Howard (4!)) was a featuro of Dilworth Old Bovs' first innings of 133. Air Force, which lias' now won two successive games, replied with 150 for two wickets. .1 Kemp compiled his 110 in 84 cJnutes and hit ten fours. Scores: — Brixton v.
