He is in the Wat-' kato Hospital sufferingfrora pneumonia. Sir Thomas Hunter has been reelected vice-chancellor of the Senate ol the University of New Zealand for the years 1944, 1015 and 1916. The. Rev. T. H. Eccersall has resigned from the pastorate of the Epsom Baptist Church. He will undertake interdenominational supply work. Colonel G. J. Smith was re-elected honorary treasurer of the Now Zealand. University Senate at the annual meet l ing of the Senate in Christchurch, Mr. A. C. Philpott, district chief clerk of the Department of Agriculture, Wellington, will retire at the end of this month after more than 41 years' service. He was at one time district clerk and accountant in Auckland.
