NAVAL AIRMAN'S DEATH Reported to have been killed in a flying accident in Canada, Leading Naval-Airman Duncan Bryce Murpln was the elder son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Murphy, of 1 Palmerston Road. Birkenhead He was aged 22 and left New Zealand in September, 1942, for training; in the Fleet Air Arm. He was later transferred to Canada.
Leading Naval-Airman Murphy was educated at the Northcote District High School and Auckland Grammar School. He "tras am active yachtsman and a keen player of hockey and tenuis.
