THE BOOLE BOOSTER CHIEF GAME DISAPPOINTS The Auckland Rugby League's Roope Rooster competition was commenced at Carlaw Park on Saturday afternoon, when there was a fair attendance. The main game was disappointing. ,as , Richmond ; easily defeated Maris!,, which was not, up to full strength. A splendid game was witnessed between Mount Albert and City, and, as the scores were equal, extra time was ordered, : and Mount Albert,won by a penalty goal. Manukau gave another impressive exhibition and comfortably defeated Newton, Ponsonby and Otahuhu had a keen,,contest, the former winning narrowly,. Richmond. Manukau 'Ponsonby and Mount Albert will contest the semi-finals. A feature, of Richmond's success wag the excellent goal-kickirift of Magill, who gained 12 points from six successive kicks. Richmond proved altogether too fast a combination for Marist, and scored six tries from splendid'team piny, Richmond led at halftime by 15 points to 2. Marist. scored only one try in the second spell, being outplayed in the backs. Results were:—Richmond, 30 (tries by L. Williams, 2; ; McDonald. McGregor, Sale' and Lowther.
