CORNWALL PARK DEVELOPMENT PLANS Developments in Cornwall Park, including the building of a driveway from Campbell Road across the southern area to give direct access to Green Lane, the forming of a new entrance to the park from Campbell Crescent and the .extension ot the water supply serving the Onehunga borough, have"been explained in a statement by Sir James Gunson, chairman of the Cornwall Park Board of Trustees. Sir James said these developments were being made in pursuit of the settled policy of the trustees. Prior to 192-5, they had concentrated on the endowment lands, since when the process of opening up the park on the plans laid down by Sir John Logan Campbell in 1901 had been steadily advanced. Recreation areas would eventually be established, but a public golf course would not be among them. The last area under lease, of 30 acres, would be surrendered to the trustees at the end of the present year. The old and new reservoirs would he placed underground, so that they would present no obstruction. Materials and labour could be made available for this type of work.
