HAMILTON, Friday The death has occurred of Mr. William Henry, of Taupiri, aged 84. Mr. Henry was born in Aberdeen and came to New Zealand as a youth. After working in Auckland as a contractor for some years he took up 3500 acres of land at Taupiri 36 years ago. Following the last war the land was subdivided into a soldiers' settlement. Mr. Henry served for many years as. a member of the Waikato County Council and the local drainage boards. He was a member of the central Waikato Electric Power Board from its inception 1 23 years ago until his death. He is survived by his wife and eight daughters. There are 14 grandchildren. MR. J. T. HICKS (0.C.) CAMBRIDGE, Friday A pioneer of Cambridge, Mr, John Thomas Hicks, has died, aged 75. Born at Havelock. he was brought to this district in 1875, and later was engaged in dairying. He was one of the first suppliers of milk to the first dairy factory in the Waikato. which was established at Pukekura. Mr. Hicks was one of the original settlers at Maungatautari. He was a member of the Maungatautari. School committee for 18. years, and of the-Maungatautari hall committee. He is survived by his wifeand six children. There are seven grandchildren. 1 LATE DR. H.
