O'Neill was consecrated Coadjutor-Bishop of Dunedin. The consecrating official was His Grace Archbishop O'Shea. The cathedral was crowded. MRS. ISABELLA WORSLEY The death lias occurred; of Mrs. Isabella Worslev, of 4 Kingsford Road, Mount ICden, widow of the late Mr. Charles Nathaniel Worslev. a wellknown New Zealand artist. .Mrs. Worslev was bora in Devonshire 73 years ago and came to New Zealand in 1905. She was keenly interested in spiritualism and had published books on the subject. Her husband died in 1923. MR. ALEXANDER RUSSELL (0.C.) HAMILTON. Thursday The death has occurred in Hamilton of Mr. Alexander Russell, a well-known sheepdog trial judge. Mr. Russell gained many successes as a competitor in sheepdog trials and he later acted as judge at shows throughout South Auckland. He was interested in church work and was a lay preacher and Sunday school teacher. THE NATIONAL PARTY The following officers were elected at the annual meeting of the Devonport branch of the National Party:—Chairman, Mr. A. G. Quartlev; vice-chair-man, Mr. W. 0. Long; honorary secretary and treasurer, Mr. Carl Prime. A strong committee was set up.

SERVICES' ASSOCIATION A decision to write to the Minister of Defence, the Hon. F. Jones, and to the Dominion headquarters of the Returned Services' Association demanding representation on the Sick and Wounded Committee, with full voting powers, was reached by a meeting of the executive of the Auckland Returned Services' Association last night. It was also decided not to appoint an associate member to the Auckland Provincial Joint Council of the Order of St. John and the New Zealand Red Cross Society. VETERINARY SERVICE (0.C.) , HAMILTON, Thursday The incidence of disease among dairy stock in New Zealand and the need for a larger veterinary service to combat the disease were discussed at a meeting of the Waikato Agricultural and Pastoral Association to-day. The president, Mr. F. S. Veale. said there was no college in New Zealand in which veterinarians could be trained.^ It was resolved to ask the Northern District Council of agricultural and pastoral associations to convene a meeting of all interested in the project of establishing a college, and that Dr. C. S. M. Hopkirk. of the Veterinary Division, be asked to address it. HAMILTON PATRIOTIC HUT (0.C.) HAMILTON, Thursday.; A valuable service is being rendered to members of the armed forces by the Hamilton Patriotic Committees hut in Garden Place. The hut is in constant use by men on leave, and those passing through, who have to spend a night in Hamilton. During the six months the club has been _ open 68.000 meals have been served in itAll the work is done voluntarily by a large band of men and women.
