INTERNING FRENCHMEN EVENT OF INVASION ' LONDON, March '_>o In the event of an Allied invasion of France all able-hpdied French• _ men will be interned under Axis j guards in camps already prepared. Renter's correspondent in Zurich ( says that posters threatening this j action have appeared throughout j Haute Savoie. The Germans are dissatisfied with the results of the industrial call-up in France. Only 40 per cent have so far presented themselves in obedience to the official summons. The Germans are watching routes to the south of France, which thousands of Frenchmen liable for conscription are trying to reach, because police supervision in the south of France is not so thoroughly organised. lu Paris buses filled with conscripted students are seen driving to railway stations. The Germans are compulsorjl v training many French women for electrical and technical work. These women fear eventual deportation to Germany. All the big Paris stores, with the exception of -two, are believed to be closing on May I.
ESCAPING PATRIOTS (Reed. r,.r> p.m.) LONDON. March 20 Every day French patriots cross between France and Britain, said Prolessor Capitant, an expert in international law. when interviewed at Algiers after his return from London, where he was sent by General Giraud to establish liaison with the Fighting French. He added that General de Gaulle maintains close contacts with the Motherland, and is able to convey almost instant instructions to patriots in France
