RESIDENTIAL NURSERY

OPENING TO-MORROW

Eagerly anticipated as filling a longfelt need in Auckland, the opening of the Residential Nursery will take place to-morrow afternoon. It will be a boon to mothers who, through their own illness, are temporarily unable to take care of their children, to know that their little ones are being looked after under ideal conditions. Set in a picturesque garden at 16 Ngauruhoe Street, Mount Eden, the nursery comprises a 12-roomed twostoried house with several glassed sun porches and long windows allowing plenty of light and air. Accommodation is provided for 25 children and the nursery is to be staffed by a matron, two Karitane nurses, a housekeeper and other assistants. It is hoped later to build an outdoor playroom in the grounds for the older children. ENGAGEMENTS Dorff—Kerby.—The engagement Is announced hetween Bernard William, third son of Mr. and Mrs. H.
