A.S.C. proved 100 strong for Training College in the curtainraiser _ the back combination of Pcarnian-Kae-Kuleen being too clever for the opposition.
Both Garrison and Air Force No. 2 obtained a converted try and a penalty goal in the first spell of their contest, and at the interval the chances of the, teams appeared to be equal. In the second spell, however, the loose rushes of the Air Force forwards, which bad hitherto worried the defending backs, lost nnvli of their sting and Garrison gradually assumed the upper hand. A feature of the match was the scoring of 1!? points by "A. J. Aitken, tlie former \Vaikato representative, for the winning team. Aitken converted five tries and kicked a penalty goal. In addition, he made a try for Weston. He broke through to the fullback and placed a kick over the latter's head with splendid judgment. Weston anticipated the move well and raced up to gather the ball and score behind the posts. Gunning was always in the picture among the Garrison forwards, his following up in the loose and general anticipation of I lie play rewarding him with two tries. Good work was done by (he respective fullbacks, Littlcjohn (Garrison 1 * and Ward (Air Force) Following were the results: —Garrison, 8' (tries by Gunning, Knilands, West on, Collins and Shean, Aitken converting five and kicking a penally goal).
