DRIVE TO KHARKOV RUSSIAN OFFENSIVE HEAVY GERMAN LOSSES (Reed. 1.35 a.m.) LONDON, May 15 Marshal Timoshenko's offensive in the Kharkov sector is reported by a correspondent to be on a front of 40 to 50 miles. The German lines have been penetrated to a considerable distance. According to reports from Moscow, the Germans have been compelled to throw in reserves of men and equipment rushed up from the rear in an attempt to stem the Red Army's advance. Enemy troops straight from the march have been thrown into the battle. The tempo of the Russian offensive is quickening and the German route of retreat is fittered with corpses, tanks, Tguns, lorries, stores and equipment.
