RESIDENTIAL NURSERY
MR. H. J. BUTCHER'S GIFT Wholehearted interest in the recentlyformed Auckland Residential Nursery Society has been shown by Mr. H. «• Batcher, sen., in his gift of a valuable property at 16 Ngauruhoe Street Mount Eden, consisting of a house with well laid out grounds. The property will be available to the^ society during his lifetime or for a minimum period of 10 years. If for any reasons the society ceased to use the property for the purpose of a residential nursery it would revert to him, stated Mr. Buteher, in a covering letter to the society. J.t was stipulated that the property should be kept in good order and condition by 'the society, which would also pay the rates, Mr. Buteher paying the insurance premiums. Mr. Butcher said he had made the offer in memory of his son, Harry, who died recently. He intended to provide in his will for the transfer of the property to the society at his death, subject to the successful functioning of the society in the meantime. The Mayoress, Mrs. <J. A. C. Allum, who presided at the meeting, moAed that Mr. Butcher's generous offer should be accepted with grateful thanks Mrs. Allum said yesterday that she ielt sure the public would continue to assist the society, as funds were needed lor the equipment and maintenance of the A two years' tenancy of the Point Erin Park kiosk, which had previously been decided on for converting into a residential nursery, has now been abandoned. _
