STANDARD BREAD
TYPES BEING BAKED MONDAY DELIVERIES LATE The decision of the Auckland Master Bakers' Association to reduce the number of types of loaves its members bake will be effective from Monday, according to a statement made yesterday by the secretary of the association, Mr. R. A. Harrop. He added that the decision applies to the whole of the Auckland metropolitan area. Mr. Harrop said the following types would continue to be baked:—4lb. double raised tin; 41b. double flat tin; Sydney fiats; 21b. flat; 21b. upright tin; tin French; splits; Barracoutta; and full Vienna. These types would still be available in white, brown, wholemeal, germ and starch reduced bread.
Some of the hotter known types of loaves that would not be baked were: Small 2d loaves; large and small twists; small Vienna; tank loaves; plaits; and golden pound loaves. In addition, many of the fancy types were being abandoned. Mr. FTarrop also stated that the air raid test to be held on Monday would temporarily imrnobilse bread vans. As a result many deliveries would be later than usual.
