WELFARE CENTRE
The provision of £2OOO on next year's estimates, being tho Auckland City Council's contribution to the cost of the Community Welfare Centre building, was agreed to by the council last night, contingent on the building being proceeded with before March 31, 1943. The council also confirmed an arrangement with the Department of Internal Affairs to contribute toward the cost of maintenance on a fifty-fifty basis, but not exceeding £SOO a year. The city lias already provided the site. The establishment cost of the building is estimated at £II,OOO.
