PROMPT ACTION
Sir, —The radio broadcast by Mr. S. G. Holland on Sunday night demands the earnest consideration of every adult citizen, male and female (I except those unhappy people who receive the benefit won by their forefathers, but are not willing to share the.responsibilities). It was a plain warning to be up and doing, if our freedom is to be maintained, and a straight-out appeal for the direction of energies. This is no time for party differences, all must_ unite to defeat tyranny and oppression. Our American Allies are now working 24 hours a day and seven days a week, while we are squabbling about a 40-hour week, and double rates for overtime, who shall be Home Guard> ana who E.P.S. Comment is superfluous. If the Government can, and will, formulate and enforce a united war effort, the majority will back them. But the cry of the horse leech, give, give, does not get' us anywhere. Prompt action is essential. The money will be forthcoming, the real question is how and in what manner our energies can be best applied? Now Then.
