ANNUAL TOURNAMENT The annual championship tournament of the Auckland Croquet Association was commenced yesterday under favourable playing conditions. Results were as follows: — Championship Doubles.—At. Remuera: Mesdames Hilton and Parker-Hill beat Mesdames Kenny and Watson, and Smithers and Johnston; Mr. and Mrs. Smith beat Mesdames Brier and McKendrick. Mrs. Bird and Mi6S Keatley, and Mesdames Clarke and Henderson; Mrs. Bird and Miss Keatley beat Mesdames Clarke and Henderson, and Allan and Tucker; Mesdames Short and O'Connor beat. Mesdames Dukes and Bartlett, and Jenkins and Goodison; Mesdames Clarke and_ Henderson beat Mesdames Brier and McKendrick; Mesdames McGill and Matthews beat Mesdames Brier and McKendrick. and Tucker and Allan. At Mount Hobson: Mesdames Cole and Beker beat Mesdames Guthrie and Wil liams, Hardley and Torrance, and Kenny and Watson: Mesdames Johnston and Smithers heat Mesdames Hardley and Torrance; Mes dames Kenny and Watson beat Mesdames Guthrie and Williams; Mesdames Hickson and Whiteford beat Mesdames Barnett and RoWnson. Intermediate Doubles.—At Mount Hobson: Mesdames Bardell and Bush beat Mesdames Hickson and Whiteford; Mesdames Barnett and Robinson beat Mesdames Jenkins and Goodison. At United: Mesdames Mack'ie and Wilson heat Mesdames Bremner and MacLean; Mesdames Parrant and Hollay beat Mrs. Lewis and Miss Turkington; Mesdames Bremner and Mac Lean beat Mesdames Furnell and Joass; Mesdames Ellis and Archibald beat Mesdames Herd and Eaddie; Mesdames Henrys and Tsbister beat Mesdames Witham and Cairn; Mesdames Bolton and Romain heat Mesdames Herd and F.addie
