AUSTRALIAN BOMBERS CLASH OVER RABAUL ENEMY FIGHTER DAMAGED LONDON, Feb. 18 Royal Australian Air Force Hudson bombers fought a battle with Japanese fighters over Rabaul, iSTew Britain, yesterday. The Hudsons were on reconnaissance. During the engagement one enemy fighter was damaged. The bombers suffered no casualties and completed their reconnaissance. A Japanese reconnaissance aeroplane appeared over Port Moresby, in New Guinea, 011 Monday, but was driven off by anti-aircraft fire. Several places on the small Sunda Islands, in the Malay Archipelago, have been bombed and machine-gunned. Several persons were killed and several wounded, but relatively small damage was done to material.
