EVACUATION OF CHILDREN
Sir, —Those of us who have made priarrangements for sending bur children to relatives and friends in country districts would appreciate a candid statement from E.P.S. authorities as to whether now is a suitable time to 'carry out our safety precautions. <: Mothers have no wish to be branded as panicky" or "alarmists," but if we wait till the enemy is actually pounding our shores in a surprise attack, will there be time to evacuate our children to the more comforting protection of their own country relatives and friends, or will thev be herded out of town in groups to any district offering shelter? Many parents have Home Guard or ■k.P.S. posts to report to if an emergency occurs. We are waiting to be tola if this is the time to get our children and elderly and sick folk to safer districts. Let the authorities speak out the truth. Doubt and whispering campaigns only do harm,, but forewarned is forearmed. Mother Looking Ahead.
