. STYLISHMAN SPBINTS CONDITION OF GAY ROSETTE (0.C.) HAMILTON, Tuesday' ' Some visiting horses gave added interest to the work at Te Rapa this morning, when the No. 1 grass,, which' was hard and fast, was used. Good efforts were registered by Stylishman, Gay Rosette, Gay Lally, Karatoki, JSJanuoto, Gentry, Silver Note, and Sporting Style. In defeating Glenbevan (E. Caddy) and Josetie (Coon), over six furlongs in 1.16, StyUshmau (Brown) returned the best figures at the distance. He finished well and Is in good heart. The Alibi ran four furlongs in SI 3-ss. Gay Lally (Ensor) was doing better than Bramble Song (Hain) over the concluding stages of six t'urlongs in 1.17. Gay Lally, who is a full brother to Gay Rdsotte, has been showing definite promise in his work. It will be interesting to see how he shapes in the Trial Stakes on Saturday. Quination and .Peter Douglas were associated over five furlongs in 1.3, a useful effort. Gay Rosette (Caddy) was clear of Laughing Fox (Hain) and Penzance (Ensor) at the end of seven furlongs in 1.30 2-5. Gay Rosette is bearing: a healthy appearance and is in good racing order. Silver Note (Gordon) and Sporting Style (McKenzie) ran half a mile in 50s, time that was not bettered at the distance. Karatoki (F. Smith) and Marinoto (Brown) ran seven furlongs impressively in 1.29. Thakoor (Sinton) and Royal Mascot (Coon) worked five furlongs in 1.3 4-5, the last four in 60 2-ss. Gay Win (Casey), sea Mist (M. Caddy) and a Vermeer gelding (J. Muir) came home comfortably in 53s tor half a mile. Gentry (F. Smith) and Lady Dink (Clough) sprinted four furlongs in 60s. Both worked well, especially Gentry, who was under a strong hold in the final stage. The other members of E. George's team, Clinch, Happicoat and Foxlore, were restricted to strong work. Tea Drop (Coon) ran five furlongs in 1.5. Vitement (Coon) was holding Queen Herod (Clough) at the completion of half a mile in 50 2-ss. Odtaa. who is looking a picture, was given strong pace work over a circuit on tne plough. Tne Cardinal (Muir) was associated with Maxown (Sinton) over two schooling hurdles and gave a good exhibition. The Cardinal Is now an inmate of Muir's stable. TAKANINI TRIALS SOUND MILE BY SEA-LAW BORAK AND VERUS GO WELL A sound mile by Sea-law was the highlight of lie training at Takanini yesterday, when the outside grass was fast. The plough track was also used extensively. After getting the worst of the jump-off, Sea-Law (Wilkinson) beat Miss Gay (Clifford) and Round Up (Dixon) over a mile in 1.42 3-5, finishing strongly to lead his companions, who ran the first three furlongs in 38s and five in 1.2 3-5. It was an excellent trial by Sea-law, who is strongly fancied for the Storey Memorial Handicap on Saturday. Miss Gay also worked well. Borak (Wilkinson) was in front of Verus (Dixon) at the end of six furlongs in 1.15. Verus led early, but Borak finished in resolute style. Tellsom (Beguely) ran six furlongs in 1.15 3-5. Cambria (Smith) and Gold Money Song (Home) ran five furlongs in 1.2. River Plate (McNeil) covered the same ground in 1.6. Myain (McNeil) took 1.5. Eagle Hawk (Clifford) ran the last three of five furlongs in 40 2-ss. Foxola (Brown) completed a mile in 1.44, without being bustled. She ran the first three furlongs in 39s and the first • half-mile in 51 3-ss. Sleepy Fox (Clifford) showed much of his former dash by running three furlongs in -36 3-5s Kiatere Maati (Clifford) and Ever True (Gray) went well over four furlongs in 49 3-ss. Peter Gregor (Beguely) and the Ringmaster—Severe colt ran four furlongs in 525, Beau Vaals (Smith) and Kentish (Hoifne) ran half a mile in 525. Representative (Logan) placed four furlongs behind in 545. Route March (Smith) was holding Proud Fox (Logan) safely at the end of naif a mile in 52 2-58. On the plough Kraal (Beguely) was a length in front of Ascot Bloom (Ferrell), after running seven furlongs in 1.30. Bronwen (Trebes) and Honeywood (Wood) also ran seven furlongs in 1.30. Gayjax (Brown) covered six furlongs in 1.21. Anopheles (Wood) hit out well over, five furlongs in 1.3. She is in nice order. AWAPUNI DOINGS RICKIE SPRINTS NICELY (0.C.) PALMERSTON NORTH. Tuesday Although a number of Awapuni horses are engaged at the Woodville Jockey, Club's meet* ing to be held at Ashhurst on Saturday, there were very few trials this morning, when, the course proper, with the flags wide out, provided good going. Sir Bradbury, a two-year-old, and Colincamps, ran four furlongs. in 545. a pleasing effort. Lady Oaklands, Alchemy and a Croupier—Lady Portland mare completed a similar task in 555. Gold Bridge sprinted three furlongs in 89s. Sea Quex and Sylva Lass wero to have gone together over five furlongs, but Sylva Lass broke away on her own and ran the distance in 1.8. Sea Quex. who followed steadily, was timed to run tne last three in 41s. Ara ran five furlongs on the plough in 1.7 2-5. Rickie, a two-year-old by Inflation from Limex, sprinted three furlongs nicely in 89s. Myarion worked once round, coming home the last five furlongs in 1.8. Cartoonist, who is in good order, and Young Charles, who raced well at Otaki. were given strong work. Horses who schooled well, included Colibri (P. Brady) Miss Leighon (E. Temperton).
