PRIVATE MOTORING
NO BAN IN AUSTRALIA. _ ' ; SYDNEY, Jan. 9 Private motoring will not be prohibited in Australia, nor is this action contemplated; but from February 1 the ration for private motorists will be cut by about 20 per cent. This information from the Prime Minister's Department was received by the Service Station Association. The general secretary of the association, Mr. C, A. Gregory, said that the announcement was made in response to a recent request by the association for a general moratorium for service station owners because of the disastrous effect prohibition of private motoring would have on the trade.
