WELLINGTON, Tuesday Regulations aimed at facilitating the lending of cars and trucks for the use of the Home Guard and Emergency Precautions ' Service purposes are gazetted to-night in the Transport Legislation Suspension Order, 1941 (No. 3). This order paves the way for owners of cars and trucks who are members of the Home Guard or the E.P.S. to use their vehicles for those services and make a small charge to cover the cost of petrol. It also allows local bodies to use light trucks for the same purpose without having to pay full licence fees if "E" plates are used. The regulations also provide that, in cases where vehicles are used for Home Guard «r E.P.S. services, and a small charge to cover running costs is made by a private owner, the additional third party insurance which normally would be necessary under such circumstances, as well as other restrictions which would apply in connection with driving licences, shall not apply. Trailers attached to Home Guard or E.P.S. cars will not be required to carry the blue light normally required.
