FORMATION OF ASSOCIATION The formation of a New Zealand Association of Scientific Workers to secure the wider application of science for the welfare of society was approved at a meeting in Wellington last week l)r. W. R. B. 01 ivet", who presided, said that some might think that owing to tho war situation the time was inopportune for the formation of such a society, but he considered that scientists could, by pooling their resources, assist the war effort and certainly aid in reconstruction after the war. The following officers wore elected—President. Dr. W. B Stitch; vice-president Dr W. R. B. Oliver; secretary, Mr. J. T. Salmon; treasurer. Dr. C. O. Button; provisional executive, Drs. L. I. Orange, J. Marwick, L. R Richardson, Messrs. A. E. Hefford, C. S. 'rn' al iK' Munro, R, L. Andrew and X. T. Clare.
