EQUAL BATTING TIME BRIGHTER PLAY WITNESSED The first series of matches in the second round of the Auckland City and Suburban Cricket Association's senior championship on Saturday produced the brightest cricket of the season. Tho innings of each team was limited to equal batting time of 2 hours 10 minutes, and it proved a most successful innovation. The wickets, at the Domain were in good order. In the principal match Green Lane declared with 100 for the lows of seven wickets against R.V., which, with four players absent, scored 115. An exciting match resulted between Army Service, 102 for seven wickets (declared) and Manukau, the leading team, with two men short, 100. Dilworth Old Boys scored 189 for the loss of seven wickets against Tui, all out for 102. Green Lane v. R.V. —Green Lane: First innings, 190 for seven wickets, declared (L. Monteith 6-J, D. J. McCormack 27, H. Lyon 23, S. Crewther 22 not out. G. Russell 19, E. Ardern 13; llooke two for 26, Robertshaw three for 70. Goldsworthy one for 42.. R. Simpson one for 43. R.V.: First innings, 115 (N. Goldsworthy -16. W. Malyon 25, W. Robertshaw 12, R. Simpson 10; McGiiie two for 10, Munns four for 49). Second innings, 59 for one wicket (W. Robertshaw 24 not out, N. Goldsworthy 22 not out, H. Tui: First innings, 102 (L. Spratt 26, W. Butler 23, A. Taylor 17, G- Crowhurst 13 not out; D. Hetherington three for 26, Partridge two for 27, Sligo one for 7. Scott one for 31, R.
