AIR RAID TRENCHES
THE BIRKDALE SCHOOL Trenches to accommodate the 120 pupils and staff at the Birkdale School are to be dug in the grounds, according to an announcement made after a meeting of the school committee. Tho committee considered that the size ol the school buildings would tend to make them more easily selected as targets for bombers. The work will be done by voluntary labour.
