AIR FORCE WEDDING

GEORGE—ARNOTT FIGHTER SQUADRON MEMBER A member of the New Zealand Fighter Squadron who has returned to New Zealand, Sergeant Frank Maitland George, was married at St. Matthew's Church on Saturday afternoon to Miss Althea Rose Arnott, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. A. V. Arnott, of Grey Lynn.

The bridegroom, who is the eldest son of Mr. and Mrs. E. F. S. George, of Altmore, New Lynn, went to England just before war broke out to return as a radio technician with Wellington bombers for New Zealand. He was attached to the Royal Air Force and was transferred to the New Zealand Fighter Squadron on its formation. The best man and groomsman at the wedding, Sergeant George Perrott and Sergeant Trevor Goodhue, also went_ to England with Sergeant George to bring Wellington bombers back to New Zealand. They hiive also returned to the Dominion ' affcsi- serving in the Royal Air Force.

The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a gown of ivory taffeta with a long train, and a finger-tip tulle veil which fell from a top-knot of roses. She carried a posy of roses and carnations. The matron of honour, Mrs. Selwyn Arnott, sister-in-law of the bride, and Miss Dorothy George, sister of the bridegroom, wore frocks of harvest corn georgette and top-knots of cornflowers. Their posies were of cornflowers and delphiniums. The ceremony was performed by Canon R. G. Coats. Ushers at the wedding were Sergeant Lance Pearson and Flight-Sergeant Jim Richie, both of the Royal New Zealand Air Force, When u a pa i. At the reception at the Farmers' Reception Hall. Mrs. Arnott received the guests wearing black corded silk appliqued with satin, and white accessories. The bridegroom's mother was in a blackberry-coloured ensemble.
