POSITION WATCHED WAR CABINET MEETINGS Continuous contact with the Far Eastern situation has been maintained by the New Zealand War Cabinet. This was announced by the Minister of Finance, the Hon. W. Nash, in- Wellington in a telephone interview with the Hkbald last night. "The War Cabinet has been in continuous contact with the position in the Far East," said Mr. Nash. "Members have met on several occasions during the day and they have been in consultation with the Chiefs of Staff and the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. P. Eraser."

Mr. Eraser is at present absent from Wellington.
