[BY TELEGRAPH —PRESS ASSOCIATION], WELLINGTON, Wednesday Important exercises were held by the Manawatu group of the newly-formed Lines of Communication Mechanical Transport Companies at Himitangi. Officers and non-commissioned officers of other companies assembled from Wellington, Masterton, Waipukurau and Hastings. The manoeuvres involved delivery to a refilling point of loads of petrol and ammunition, and the exercises also included an experimental gas alarm and camouflage practice. Features of the manoeuvres were studied from a vantage point by senior officers and other visitors.
