BOATS WITHOUT LIGHTS
UNUSUAL PROSECUTION TWO FISHERMEN FINED (0.C.) THAMES, Tuesday An unusual prosecution at Thames to-day resulted in two fishermen, Alfred Alister Dunn, of the boat Waiheke, and Leslie Bernard Wilson, of the boat Myrtle, being fined £5 each on a charge of failing to navigate their boats according to the requirements of the law. The case was a sequel to a collision in the Firth of' Thames on September 17, when the Myrtle was sunk and extensively damaged. No one was injured. % Prosecuting for the Marine Department, Sergeant Murphy stated that both skippers admitted they hail no lights showing. The prosecution was the first of its kind; but the department viewed the offence seriously. .
