MAN'S ANKLES SCALDED

(0.C.) TAUMARUNUI, Tuesday Scalded ankles were suffered by a veneer worker, Mr. D. Lang, at Messrs. Ellis and Burnand's veneer works, Manunui, when he slipped into one of the troughs of boiling water in which logs are soaked bfefore being cut into veneer. Mr. Lang was engaged in hauling the logs from the trough when he slipped on the edge. His boots, however, protected his feet somewhat from the boiling water, but the scalding he received necessitated his removal to Taumaranui for medical attention.
