MORE AUCKLAND BIRTHS
STATISTICS FOR NOVEMBER There were 360 births and 207 deaths in Auckland last month, according to figures supplied by the registrar, bringing the totals for the year to date to 4077 and 2406 respectively. For the corresponding 11 months last year, births totalled 3562 and deaths 2238 In November, 1940, there were 13 fewer births and 13 more deaths than last month. During November 211 marriage notices were issued, compared with 299 in the corresponding month last year, and 40 marriages were performed by the registrar, against 49 in November, 1940. Applications are now being received for Christmas marriages, and the registrar stated yesterday that a substantial number had been lodged with him already. The total number of marriages in Auckland for the year to date is 3163, compared with 4098 up to the end of November, 1940. NEW HAMILTON RECORD 1000 BIRTHS IN 11 MONTHS (0.C.) HAMILTON, Monday The vital statistics in Hamilton for November showed an increase in births and deaths over the same period last year, while marriages showed a decrease. Births totalled 81, deaths 30, and marriages 31, compared with 58 births, 20 deaths, and 37 marriages in November, 1940. For the_ first 11 months of this year 1000 births have been registered, constituting a record for the district. There were 345 deaths and 295 marriages in the period.
