KING'S EMPIRE VETERANS
A large gathering of soldiers who fought in ware as long as 50 years ago, attended the annual reunion of the King's Empire Veterans held on Saturday afternoon. Among those P 1 ® 3 was Colour-Sergeant Alfred Pichrell, late, Hoyal Engineers, aged 91, wfao was one of the earliest to join the association under the late Lord R£infarly> its founder, in 1901. During the aft*? noon an excellent musical programme was presented and a tribute of two minutes' silence was paid to two mem--hers who had died during the' year. Represented in the gathering were many famous regiments, including tM Royal Horse Guards, the Kings Dragoon Guards and the Duke of Cornwall's Light Horse. The president, Gap* tain J. A. Algie, presided.
