OFFICER LOST
MERCHANT SHIP TORPEDOED Advice that, her husband, Mr. Leslie Moller, chief officer of a British merchant ship, has? been given up as lost after the torpedoing of his vessel has been received by Mrs. Phyllis .Moller, of Bayswater. Mrs. Moller, who is well known in Auckland musical circles, was married in Britain several years ago and only returned to the Dominion fairly recently. She is the daughter of Mrs. W. Lewins, of Bayswater. Mr. Moller's ship was torpedoed off the coast of Scotland on September 16 and sank very quickly, One lifeboat had been launched and Mr. Moller was struggling with the launching of a second when another torpedo was fired into the ship which up, Mr. Moller not being seen _ again. A few survivors were landed in Britain.
