ARMY APPOINTMENT

DIVISIONAL ENGINEERS A Wellington civil engineer who, as a lance-corporal, won the Military Medal for bravery in the Great War has been appointed to command the Divisional Engineers, Expeditionary Force, in the Middle East. He is Major F. M. H. Hanson, and he has been granted the temporary rank of Lieuten-ant-colonel while acting in his new appointment, which follows the seconding of Colonel G. H. Clifton, M.C., as chief engineer to a British corps.
