ROAD BOARD ELECTION

MOUNT ROSKILL DISTRICT A poll, to fill the vacancy on the Mount lloskill Boad Board created by the death of Mr. C. J. Anderson will be held to-day between 9 a.m. and 6 p.m. The following six candidates have been nominated: Messrs. J. McC. Clarkson, A. E. Hole, A. I. Iveesing, A. D. Thomson, M. S. Walker and E. J. West. Six polling places have been appointed, including one in the City for the convenience of business people and wage-earners. The franchise in road districts, which formerly was liimtod to ratepayers and their husbands or wives, now embraces tenants of State houses. However, only the person in whose name the tenancy is recorded may vote, and the right does not extend to husband or wife. Ratepayers with rates unpaid at the opening of the poll are disqualified from voting.
