DUKE OF WINDSOR
VISIT TO UNITED STATES QUESTION IN COMMONS LONDON, Nov. 26 The Duke of Windsor's recent visit to the United States was criticised in the House of Commons to-day. Mr. A. Sloan (Labour —Ayrshire) asked whether the visit find been undertaken with the consent of the British Goveminent, Mr. Sloan asked: "Is Mr. Hall aware of the bitter comment aroused in the United States by the Duke of Windsor's visit, especially about the ostentatious display of jewellery and finery while people in England are striotly rationed?" The Under-Secretary for Colonial Affairs, Mr. George Hall, replied that lie was. Mr. Sloan suggested that the Prime Minister, Mr. Churchill, should have "this gentleman and his wife" recalled, since the visit had done a certain amount of harm and no good. i
