WELLINGTON CASES NINE DURING NOVEMBER [by telegraph—press association] WELLINGTON, Friday Although there have been nine positive cases of cerebrospinal meningitis in the Wellington health district this month, there has been only one case reported in the last 11 days. One case was a baby of five months and another a baby of eight months, and two were children of two and eight years respectively. The other cases were adults. There was no connection between any of the cases, said Dr. Hubert Smith, medical officer of health, to-day. The cases had occurred in widely separated localities —Lower Hutt, Eastbourne, Johnsonville, Trentham and Masterton. Four other cases had been admitted to hospital during the month, but they had proved to be meningitis of a different and non-epidemic type or not meningitis at all.
