LEAGUE OF MOTHERS

A protest about the quality of wireless serials had been sent to the Prime • Minister from the Dominion League of Mothers, following the receipt of a remit from Auckland, stated a report at the quarterly meeting of the Auckland Provincial League of Mothers yesterday. The provincial president, Mrs. Harvey Turner, presided. It was decided that subjects for discussion at a two-day 1942 provincial conference would be "Tolerance" and "Parental Control and the Use of , Leisure." Hospitality will be extended to country members. The war services secretary stated that in addition to helping the Red Cross i shop and the Welcome Club the league would give assistance at the Christmas parties to be held by the Auckland Patriotic Committee and the Y.W.C.A. for i servicemen's children. Good wishes were extended to Miss Elsie Rennet, general secretary of the Auckland Y.W.C.A., who will leave shortly for the Mid dip East.
