MORE RADIO LICENCES

Altogether 361,888 radio licences were in force in the Dominion at the end of October, an increase of 14.392 on the figure at the same time last year, according to a return prepared by the Post and Telegraph Department. The total was mado up of 359,461 receiving licences, 1453 free, 931 dealers' and 43 under 'miscellaneous headings. The only class in which there lias not been an increnso is dealers' licences, the number of which has declined from 997 on October 31, 1940. The Wellington district, with 129,725 receiving licences, continues to hold first place, Auckland, with 118,643, being next.
