THAMES, Thursday Settlers at the lower end of the Tlauraki Plains whose farms will not directly benefit have signed an agreement with the West Drainage Board to contribute Is an acre for five years toward the cost of erecting a stopbank to protect 6000 acres of rich farm land from flooding. The stopbank will be 10ft. high and will take five or six years to build.
