CHANGE IN COMMAND

WHENUAPAI AIR BASE GROUP-CAPTAIN BUCKLEY Following his recent return from Britain, where be was in charge of a Bomber Command station of the Royal Air Force, Group-Captain M. W. Buckley, M.8.E., has been appointed to command the Royal New Zealand Air Force station at Wlienuap&i. He has already taken over his duties, in succession to Wing-Commander J. Seabrook, A.F.C., who is now officer commanding at Hobsonville.

Group-Captain Buckley, who has had a long association with military aviation, was in command of the newlyformed No. 75 (New Zealand) Squadron of the Royal Air Force in the early stages of the war. He was then a wingcommander, and on being promoted to his present rank he was given command of a station from which two squadrons of Yickers Wellington bombers operated. One of them was the New Zealand squadron.
