SNOOKER TOURNAMENT
Great Northern Event. —The Great Northern handicap snooker tournament was continued at Barton McGill's billiard hall last night with the following results:—\\. Knott beat K. Bell, 228 —104; W. Bracevich beat C, Benjamin, 2^9—228. W. Thompson (scr) will meet B. Watson-(91) at 7 ° clock tonifrht anil 'it S p.m. M. D. White i-1) will play F. Whitcombe (01). Horace Lindrum's Visit.—Tbe world snooker champion-, Horace Lindrum, played exhibition matches at the Masonic Club at mid-dav vesterday. He made a break of 160 at billiards and 86, 7S and 45 at snooker. Playing at Stephenson's Billiards Rooms last night- he beat W. Thompson by 459 points to 141, including breaks of 123 and 252. Followine were the results of snooker contests. Lindrum conceding 42 points in each case;—Lindrum, 81, beat R. Nixon, 60; Lindrum. 00. beat Fredatovich, 73; Lindrum, 10.6. beat H. Diggle, 58; Lindrum, 79, beat W: Thompson, 71; Lindrum, 05 (including a break of (>6) beat W. Wliyle, 65. Lindrum will plav tho last match of his tour at G. Cox's rooms, Syntonds Street, to-night, and will leave for Australia shortly.
