MASONIC GRAND LODGE
ANNUAL COMMUNICATION
MR. MacDIARMID RE-ELECTED [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION*] DUNEDIN, Wednesday
The annual communication of the Masonic Grand Lodge of New Zealand was held to-dav. Proceedings opened with a business session. There are 306 lodges under the jurisdiction of the Grand Lodge, practically all being represented by sitting masters or delegates.
The grand master, Mr. C. L. MacDiarmid, of Hamilton, who presided, was unanimously re-elected head of the craft in the Dominion. Appointments to other important offices, which are made by the grand master under his prerogative powers, will be announced at the installation ceremony to-night. The business session was devoted mainly to consideration of the financial administration of the craft, notably the charitable and philanthropic institutions it- maintains. Wellington was chosen for the 1942 communication, which will coincide with the celebration of the centenary of Freemasonry in New Zealand.
