Mr. E. Anderson travelled to Christ. church by air yesterday. Mr. E. L. Rutledge arrived from Wellington yesterday and is at the Grand Hotel. Lieutenant H. Philpott, of the Navy Office, Wellington, has returned from a visit to Australia. Mr. R. C. Hayes, Government seismologist, left yesterday for Wellington after a visit to Auckland. Mr. H. Gatty, New Zealand representative of Pan American Airways, left last night for Wellington. Mr. D. Holderness, superintendent and engineer of the Auckland Harbour j Board, left for Wellington yesterday. The Hon. P. K. Paikea, representative of the Maori race on the' Executive Council, arrived from Wellington yesterday. Mr. T. H. Donaldson, New Zealand manager of the British Phosphate Commission, returned from Wellington yesterday. Lieutenant-Colonel H. S. Nurse, De-puty-Inspector General of Munitions for "the. Australian Military Forces, has arrived on a short visit to New Zealand. He is at the Station Hotel. Dr. L. Hammond Aitken. who practised in Auckland for a time and is now in England, has been admitted to a fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (England). He was educated at Waitaki Boys' High_ School and at Otago University. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh), and at present is surgical officer at the Royal Infirmary, Liverpool .
