MEAT DELIVERY
POSITION IN HAMILTON (0.C.) HAMILTON. Wednesday A statement that although the association had not yet considered the question of ceasing delivery, it would probably be forced to do so in tho near future, was made by Mr. W. R. Shattock, president of the Hamilton branch of the South Auckland Master Butchers' Association, to-day. Mr. Shattock said if this was done it would not cause a great deal of inconvenience in the town, as there were numerous meat shops, and few customers would have to carry their meat for more than three-quarters of a mile. The Average cost for each delivery van was £8 a week, said Mr. Shattock, and with the increasing costs butchers would welcome a change. The shortage of manpower to do delivery work aggravated the position, but the association would not make any alterations until all aspects had been considered.
