CALLIOPE DOCK CAISSON

Only one tender for a new steel caisson or entrance gate for Calliope Dock was received at a meeting of the Harbour Board yesterday. The present caisson is the one originally installed. The tender, which was for £19,800,' was referred to the finance committee. The chairman, Mr. Hendry said the work was one of the most important before the board at present.
