NO AMBULANCE
The suggested provision of an ambulance at Pukekohe was the subject of r report by the secretary, Mr, C. L Grange, received at a meeting of the Auckland Hospital Board. Mr. Grange said lie had discussed the matte; with the St. John Ambulance Asso ciation , and had learned that tin service would require an ambulance costing, at present, £IO7O, a centra! depot, telephone connection, a per manent driver at; £5 10s a week, plus 5 per cent, and a relief driver., Such r service would be costly and he did noi think it .was warranted at the presenl time. Although opposition was raiset by Mr, G. T. Parvin and other speakers it was decided, on the casting vote o! the chairman, Mr. Allan J. Moody, t< adopt the report and take no furthei action.
