Kerosene Emulsion

K E ROSENE is a very potent insecticide, especially when it is combined with soft soap. This old-fashioned but still popular remedy is made by dissolving a quarter-pound of soft soap in a pint of boiling water. When thoroughly dissolved, add half a pint of kerosene, the mixture being stirred vigorously until an emulsion is formed, This is made up to two gallons by adding more water, and when cool is ready for use. This mixture does not keep and should therefore be used immediately.
