Bumps on Lawns

() N , lawns laid down a year ago slight depressions may have appeared. These should now be remedied.Too often the offending area is rolled and i died in the vain hope that the rolling will level the bumps. This it will never do. The most satisfactory way of performing the operation is to cut through the turf with a sharp space making a letter,M. The cut turf may then be folded back on either side of the cross cut and the soil either added or subtracted as the case may be. The correct alteration having been made the turves when folded back should be slightly above the level of the lawn. By the time they have thoroughly settled a dead level should be obtained.
