KILLED AND MISSING ONE PRISONER OF WAR SEVERAL AUCKLAND NAMES [BY TELEGRAPH PRESS ASSOCIATION'] •WELLINGTON, Monday The following Air Force casualties are officially announced: Gato, Allan Irving (Sgt.), R.N.Z.A.F., killed as a result of an aircraft accident—Mrs. L>. J. .Gate, Claudelands (mother). McGill-Nutt, Gordon Jamea R.N.Z.A.P., lost his life as a result of an aircraft accident—Mrs. L. M. McGill-Nutt, Wellington (mother). Mason, Miles Arthur George (Pilot-Officer), R-A P., previously reported missing, now officially presumed that death occurred in February, U)ll—Mr. C. W. Mason, Nelson (fal her). Edwards, John Alfred (Sgt.), R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations—Mr. C. Edwards, Auckland (father), b x lan Murra y Vfiss (Pilot-Officer), R.N.Z.A.F., missing- on aiT operations— Mrs. D. Field, Richmond (mother). Rlt-chie, James Robertson (Sgt.), R.N.Z.A.F., missing on air operations—Dr. James Ritchie, Cambridge (father). Pilot-Officer Robertson is the eldest son of Captain and Mrs, W. B. Robertson, of 494 Remuera Road. He was educated at the Seddon Memorial Technical College and prior to enlistment in the Air Force was in charge of the transmitter at station 3YA, Christchurch. He was well known in yachting circles and is joint owner with his brother in the B class keeler Waimea. He represented New Zealand at Sydney during the Centennial Regatta racing in an 31 class boat. He was a member of the Auckland Aero Club and was a keen Rugby player.
